5 Signs of A Bad Car Tint Job

Getting your car windows tinted is a great step towards protecting your car’s interior from the harmful effects of the sun’s UV rays. Tinted car windows block the sun rays and protect not only your car’s furnishings but also the people sitting inside your car.

Direct exposure to sunlight can cause the seat covers and other components of your car’s interior to fade and lose their vibrancy, making your car look older than it actually is. But with the right car window tinting in place, you can rest assured that your car’s interior and loved ones are protected. However, not every tinting contractor will do the job right. In an attempt to save some money, you may end up hiring a cheap car window tinting professional. We’ve listed down some signs that indicate that you’ve ended up with a bad car window tint job, and you’ll have to get it re-done sooner than later.

1.     Uneven Lines and Gaps

One of the most prominent signs of a bad car window tint job is noticeable uneven lines and gaps in the tint film. The tint film should cover the car window edge to edge, and the corners should be fine and even. If you notice that the lines aren’t even or there are gaps between the tint film and the window edges, you should immediately know that it’s a bad car window tint job.

2.     Purplish Tint

Another sign of a bad car window tint job is a purplish tint. If the tinting contractor has used substandard tint material to tint your car windows, you will observe that the tint starts to turn purplish in a short period. These tint films are cheaper and aren’t made to last a very long time.

3.     Improper Sticking to the Dot Matrix

Some cars have a dot matrix on their windows. If the contractor has done a bad car window tint job, the tint film won’t stick appropriately around the dot matrix, and you will observe that the tint film is raised in a zigzag pattern. When the tint film doesn’t stick properly, it won’t serve the purpose to the extent that it is supposed to. So, if you see a zigzag pattern in the tint film around the dot matrix, you need to know that a bad car window tint job was done in the first place.

4.     Bubbles

A bad car window tint job involves the use of poor quality adhesive. As a result, the adhesive will lose its stickiness, and as a result, bubbles will appear. Bubbles look unsightly, and it won’t be too long before your tint film completely peels off.

5.     Your Car Feels Hot

If your car feels hot even if the car window tint is of a darker shade, it’s a sign that a bad car tint window job was done, and the contractor has used low-quality tint film that is failing to keep the heat out of your car.

Summary

Nobody wants to suffer at the hands of an unprofessional tinting professional and get stuck with a bad car window tin job. It would only mean that you’ll have to bear an additional expense of getting the right car window tint by a reliable professional. So, why not get it done right in the first go?
